Alexis Martial was born in Paris in 1985, the son of leather gilding craftsmen who manufacture custom made luxury items in their Parisian atelier. Following in his family’s artistic footsteps, Alexis enrolled at the age of 16 in one of the most prestigious schools in France dedicated to Haute Couture. There he acquired the technical skills of Haute Couture craftmanship which would later prove instrumental to developing his sensibilities as a fashion designer.

After having completed his education, he started his career in 2007 at Givenchy, where he worked alongside the artistic director Riccardo Tisci as a knitwear designer on the ready-to-wear and Haute Couture lines.

In 2012 he was appointed creative director at Paco Rabanne, thus participating in the famous French label’s rebirth. Early in 2013, he was contacted by Paolo Gerani to take part in a new adventure: to take over the creative direction of Iceberg womenswear. Together, they defined the new artistic, productive and conceptual orientation of the brand. Young, fresh and modern are the key words.

An ardent collectionneur, Alexis finds his inspiration in contemporary industrial design and photography. Urban pop culture and Parisian « négligé » elegance are the axioms of his creations. The new Iceberg project will be unveiled at the upcoming Spring-Summer 2014 fashion show.
