When the lights went dim
On Friday, September 21st during Milano Fashion Week Iceberg sent down the runway the Spring/Summer 2013 women’s luxury ready-to-wear collection.
Many celebrities came to the show to admire the designs for the new season. There in the front row were three great sports stars: Fiona May (Brit-born Italian ex long jump champ who made a fab appearance in her Iceberg outfit), Danilo Gallinari (Italian basketball forward who flew in from the U.S. where he plays in the NBA) and Diego Occhiuzzi (Italian fencer who won silver and bronze medals at the 2012 Olympics in London). Young, fresh, gorgeous and athletic. Winners in every way.
When the lights went dim they and everyone else in the audience got the chance to see and appreciate the cool Italian brand’s latest take on the contemporary woman: part rock, part rebel, part aristo. A real stunner in come-on-strong colors, with big cinch belts offsetting the fluidity of materials, so defining the silhouette. And then geometric and wallpaper inspired prints, knits with leather inserts and other precious touches. Irresistible oppositions, as in the micro biker jacket making an ideal match with the long impalpable skirt. Soundtrack by the hottest name around: Marcelo Burlon. Nude makeup by MAC, hair in elegant pony tail/buns.
That’s the Iceberg woman: at once sensual and relaxed, feminine and fearless. A savvy upbeat woman who loves playing with patterns and nuances. A true perfectionist who expresses the multiple contrasting-complementary facets of her personality with melodious precision.
